Straighten 0.300" - 0.900" ICs with No Tooling Changes

Straighter IC leads equal faster insertion times.  8 pin to 40 pin DIP packages with lead centers of 0.300", 0.400", 0.600", 0.750", and 0.900" can be quickly and easily straightened with Manix Manufacturing's ADP-100.  Fully adjustable in center spacing and body height, the ADP-100 requires no tooling changes.  Simply dial in the correct setting to quickly convert the system from one package size to another.  The system accepts all component manufacturers' IC tubes and transfers processed parts to either empty tubes or bins.  A variable speed drive belt, constructed of conductive material, transports the components through the straightening rollers into the empty tube.

Straighten and Cut 0.300" - 0.600" ICs with Minimal Tooling Changes

The ADP-500 DIP Processor straightens leads to the proper center spacing for simpler hand insertion, and cuts leads to the proper length eliminating the need for pre/post solder trimming.  DIP packages with 0.300", 0.400", or 0.600" centers and lead counts from 8 pins to 40 pins can be straightened and cut with a single machine at speeds up to 15,000 pph.  Parts can be fed to and from standard IC tube packages.  Two dials adjust lead spacing and cut length to insure perfect repeatability.  Interchangeable center rails allow conversion for different body widths in minutes.  The conductive drive belt transports components through the various straightening and cutting stages, while a built-in counter maintains the total number of parts processed.

Straighten, Cut, and Form On One System

Straighten, cut and form to either gull wing (SMD) or snap-in configurations with the ADP-1000 DIP processor.  DIPs with center spacings of 0.300", 0.400", 0.600", 0.750", and 0.900", and lead counts of 8-40 pins can be processed tube-to-tube.  Center spacing, cut length, and body height settings are all dial adjustable for maximum repeatability.  Two separate models are available:  The ADP-1000SI provides a snap-in form for part retention and includes adjustable crimp for stand-off heights from 0.071" - 0.197", whereas the ADP-1000GW converts conventional DIPs into an SMD configuration with an adjustable foot length and 0.045" stand-off height.  Like all ADP Series models, a conductive conveyor belt provides ESD protection.  The built-in counter also maintains the total number of parts processed.

Form IC Packages to Various Bolt Circles

The FPPL press and tooling is designed to form round TO packages to different bolt circles or even to a square or rectangular pattern. Easy to change tooling is available for different size components or different lead configurations.

Each system includes the base machine with 360 degree viewing, one set of cam tooling, a spring punch, and a spreader anvil. Changeover is performed in less than two minutes.

All leads are restricted during the forming operation Stand-off height is typically 0.125" after forming.
