The new, unique, SS-2000 Manix Radial Lead Former cuts and forms all types of radial components at speeds up to 1,000 pph. The system includes three positions, two for cut and form dies, and one for cut only.

Cut all styles and types of radial, axial, and IC components to a specified length on one trim die, and cut and form transistors, capacitors, LEDs and other radials on the other two dies. Choose from snap-in, to standoff, to layover forming dies. Positions one and three accept forming dies while the middle position houses the unique trim die assembly.

Cut/Form Axials, Radials, DIPs and SIPs or Non-Standard Devices with the SS Series

Low volume assemblers who require flexibility and quality of form can improve speed and profitability by using the modular SS Series bench top pneumatic lead cutter/former.  Transistors, Capacitors, ICs, Resistors, Diodes, LEDs, DIPs and even SIPs can be cut and formed with the SS-1A Base Unit and a die of your choice.  Choose from over 30 dies available to cut, form, reshape, and even convert thru-hole components into SMDs.  All dies in the SS Series fit onto the standard SS-1A Base Unit.  A powerful 3" diameter bore cylinder with 1.5" stroke drives a hardened tool steel cutter underneath the die plate.

Variable Pitch Capacitor Cutter/Former

The SS-11 Radial Capacitor "Stairway" Die accepts the four most common capacitor centers and cuts and forms to a snap-in or stand-off configuration.  The SS-11 reduces assembly cost by eliminating post solder trimming (leads are cut to a uniform 0.060" protrusion), eliminating component fallout or tilt, and raising capacitors off of the PCB by 0.125" to eliminate the installation of costly spacers.  An unskilled operator can process between 1000 and 1800 pph.

Heavy Duty, Flexible, Trim Die Assembly

With a single die plate, the new SS-2 Trim Die System accurately trims axials, radials, ICs (0.300", 0.400", 0.600", 0.900" DIPs), LEDs, and SIPs to 0.125" below the component body.  This provides a 0.060"-0.063" protrusion below a 0.062" PCB.  A powerful 3" diameter bore cylinder with a 1.5" stroke drives a hardened tool steel cutter underneath the die plate.  The hardened, chrome-plated die assembly is 4.4" wide by 1.3" long and has a variety of holes for SIPs, ICs, transistors, capacitors and axials.  A 4.125" by 0.050" slot allows cutting of tie bars.

Adjustable Axial Lead Forming Dies

Low-volume assemblers that work with a highly diverse mix of axial components can improve their profitability by using SS Adjustable Die Series in place of hand bending.  ADJ Manually Adjustable Dies produce unusual lead forms on demand.  New patterns can be set up in less than minutes.  The DDJ Dial-Adjustable Die provides even faster set-ups.  Adjustable dies deliver high quality lead forming with the part-after-part repeatability of fixed tooling.  Both dies clamp the leads before cutting and forming, eliminating stress fractures or body/lead damage.   Highly-polished forming anvils, teflon rollers and oil-hardened cutters prevent scraped leads, such that formed parts meet MIL-STD2000 and WS-6536 Rev. E standards.

Low Cost Capacitor Lead Former

The low cost VC Series Lead Formers cut and form virtually any capacitor with 0.100" - 1.000" centers.  The VC-1 creates snap-in/stand-off lead forms for part retention, while the VC-2 eliminates the need for spacers by creating crimped bends that hold capacitor bodies 0.125" above the PCB.  Both formers deliver finished components with a uniform 0.060" protrusion below a standard 0.062" thick PCB.  Their unique design prevents nicking, coining, uneven lead crimping and erratic cutting problems frequently associated with other lower priced equipment.  The compact press with either forming die is fully pneumatic and is controlled by a hands-free foot pedal.

Low Cost Transistor Lead Former

The inexpensive TK Series Lead Formers reduce PCB assembly cost by providing cut and form configurations on the three commonly specified transistor packages.  The TK-1 is designed to process leads on TO-92, TO-18 and TO-5 transistors at speeds of up to 1000 parts per hour.  The system eliminates the need for spacers as it forms a stand-off of 0.125" above the PCB.   The forming creates a three point lock-in that ensures quality solder joints and prevents component fall-out.  The leads are automatically trimmed to a uniform 0.060" below a standard 0.062" thick PCB.  The pneumatic, foot-pedal-activated TK-1 is comprised of a compact press and a hardened tool steel forming and cutting die.

Cut leads to Required Pre-Solder Length

Eliminates Manual Trimming

Low-Cost, Semi-Automatic
Radial Lead Cutter

Make component insertion easier and PCB assembly more economical by eliminating costly manual trimming.  The RLC Series Lead Trimming System provides burr-free cutting of radial and DIP components at speeds ranging from 700 to 1100 pph.  The RLC system is ideal for processing 14 and 16 pin DIPs; TO-92, TO-18, and TO-5 transistors; 8, 10, and 12 lead circular ICs and a wide variety of capacitors.  The RLC-12 base unit consists of a pneumatic press with a hardened, tool steel cutter and foot pedal actuation.  The cutting mechanism is completely enclosed for maximum operator safety.  A variety of standard die plates, each 0.125" thick and drilled with the component lead pattern for your application, can be attached to the base unit in a matter of seconds.
